Tiki Masala isn’t something I would usually attempt to cook. While Indian food is a favorite of mine, it just seems complicated and the opposite of a casual cooking endeavor. Cue my mom visiting and bringing a million marinades and sauces for me to try. Apparently she loves these Indian simmer sauces by Maya Kaimal (check them out here). After some convincing, I decided to test out it out and I was happily surprised with the results!
Using the sauce was actually pretty simple. You just cube some chicken and “lightly” cook it. Then add your simmer sauce along with any vegetables, I used peas, and let all this simmer for 10-20 minutes. I chose to pair my tiki masala creation with some brown rice, but you could definitely eat it alone. I would recommend trying a spicier version, even though I’m a wimp when it comes to spice, just to add some more flavor.
