Friday Favorites | Daily Makeup

July 29, 2016

Establishing an easy go-to makeup routine simplifies your morning tremendously! It also create somewhat of a signature look and a routine to fall back on when that smoky eye for a night out fails hideously and you resemble a raccoon. Below are my favorite products that I use daily to create my every day look.

face

I always start off my makeup routine by priming my face with Benefit’s professional primer. This ensures your makeup will stay put throughout the day and creates a barrier between your skin and the product. After this I apply with my beauty blender a thin layer of Tarte’s Amazonian Clay foundation and blend into my neck. I skip foundation under my eyes as concealer will go here later. The combination of foundation and concealer usually leads to a cease-y mess.  After the foundation I apply concealer on any pimples and under my eyes.

Next, I add some color with my Benefit Dallas blush box. Since I’m very pale, I apply this in areas that bronzer would typically be applied. I finish off with another round of blending with my beauty blender. I’ve been straying away from powder during the summer as my skin is very dry and powder truly accentuates that. I set my face with Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray to attempt to combat summer humidity.

lips

This lipstick and lip liner duo have been my favorite since high school. Both are MAC products. The lip liner is in the shade “Subculture” and the lipstick is “Creme Cup” and part of the Creme Sheen collection. Unfortunately, they no longer carry this shade but naturally I stocked up!

eyes

I always start by priming my eyelids with Urban Decay Primer Potion. This ensures you have no creasing and also makes the eyeshadows more true to their pan shade. For eyeshadow I keep it simple and always use the Naked 3 palette shades Strange, Limit, Trick and Nooner. I use Strange as a highlight, Limit as a lid base color, Nooner in the crease and Trick on the center of the eye. Again, blending is key for a natural looking eye.

Next I go in with MAC False Lashes mascara on my top lashes and then with the Tarte Amazonian Clay mascara on the bottom lashes. I like using the sample size of my bottom lashes as the wand is much shorter and allows for more control. Lastly, I brush through by brows with Benefit’s Gimme Brow. I love natural looking brows and this is a perfect way to build volume without having a stencil on your face.
