August is a whirlwind of a month, the end of summer and the beginning of school mean new routines. My favorites this month aren’t really related to each other, but hey it’s a mash up!
Yes, this is a Pulitzer Prize winner so I don’t exactly get an award to “finding” this book, BUT it is an amazing read. I had honestly gotten really drained from reading other books about the Holocaust and this offered a much needed fresh perspective on such an important historical event. The two main characters are a blind girl from Paris named Marie-Laure and an orphan boy from a mining town named Werner. How their stories intertwine is truly a testament to the good in each of us. I actually started using this on a suggestion from a friend for frizzy hair without fully realizing all the benefits it actually has. It’s actually intended as a sort of leave in conditioner/strengthener meant to repair hair through “silk technology”. For me it’s a non-greasy solution for frizz that adds so much healthy shine. Bonus, it also smells amazing! I’ve been really into products lately that are practical, but also restorative.
Just throwing this out there, dry shampoo literally never works for me. I have really thick hair and I haven’t been able to find a formula that actually got rid of all the oil for an entire day. Influenster recently sent me this product to try out and I FINALLY FOUND SOMETHING THAT WORKS! I can use it and not wash my hair or need to reapply the dry shampoo for two more days, something I never thought was possible. Side note: I also love the deep conditioner from this brand!
So I am a die hard for Benefit eye cream, I’ve never used anything else. That being said, I wasn’t exactly thrilled to switch up my eye cream to test this out, but I’m glad I did. Influenster sent me this eye and lip cream recently and I was happy it see it’s all natural and based in African medicine. I used it for a few nights and I did notice my under eye area stayed hydrated and I had no irritation. I don’t really have lines near my eyes, so I didn’t see that part of the product.
What are some products you’ve been loving lately and think I should try? (Or products you just want me to be the guinea pig for.) Let me know in the comments down below!
