Tiki Masala isn’t something I would usually attempt to cook. While Indian food is a favorite of mine, it just seems complicated and the opposite of a casual cooking endeavor. Cue my mom visiting and bringing a million marinades and sauces for me to try. Apparently she loves these Indian simmer sauces by Maya Kaimal (check them out here). After some convincing, I decided to test out it out and I was happily surprised with the results!
Establishing an easy go-to makeup routine simplifies your morning tremendously! It also create somewhat of a signature look and a routine to fall back on when that smoky eye for a night out fails hideously and you resemble a raccoon. Below are my favorite products that I use daily to create my every day look.
Cacti are the trendy plant of the moment and I’m guilty of owning an embarrassing number of them. Also embarrassing, I have a habit of killing mine. Since succulents and cacti don’t require a lot of water, it can be tricky to find the balance between over watering and under watering. How much sun does your plant need? What even is fertilizer?? I read up on all these aspects and made a crash course in cactus care just for you guys!
Skincare isn’t a casual endeavor for me and it’s definitely something I am more than willing to invest in. The constant changes in Chicago weather do my skin no favors, so I knew I needed to find a new place to get facials. That’s where Mud Facial Bar came in. Located in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, it’s a short Uber ride to reach after classes. Adding a few vitamins into your daily routine is perfect to ensure you get the nutrients your body needs. I personally never know what I’m going to be eating within the span of a day, so I like to know that regardless I’m giving my body what it needs. Vitamins and supplements are becoming very popular, and the aisle at the drug store can be intimidating. Always remember to talk with your doctor before adding vitamins or other supplements into your routine. Also be sure to consider drug interactions and other side effects when taking supplements.
My skin journey has been a nightmare. I’ve been blessed with combination, acne prone, sensitive skin that responds poorly to popular skin products. I’ve gravitated towards more natural products without alcohol and preservatives. While my skin is nowhere near where I want it to be, it has come leaps and bounds thanks to my new regime. (more…)
Over spring break I passed over the stereo typical spring break spots and flew out to San Francisco and drove up the coast to Humboldt County. I used to go on camping trips there when I was younger and it is arguably my favorite place in California. I wanted to share what I did over my vacation, while also mentioning some other popular activities in the area.
Constructing a good cheese platter is a skill gained through trial and error. From someone who loves cheese enough to name their dog Brie, I like to think I’ve mastered the art of the cheese platter.
I finally made the leap from Blogger to my own domaine and I could not be happier with the change. Thank you so much for your patience during this process as content has been MIA for weeks while this blog got its life together.
